Veneers

Veneers services offered in Sugar Land, TX

Few people are born with naturally straight, white teeth. If you’re unhappy with the way your teeth look, cosmetic and general dentists Varghese John, DMD, Sanaz Rouhani, DDS, and their team can transform your smile with veneers at Advanced Dentistry. Veneers are thin shells that create straighter, brighter-looking teeth. To make an appointment, call the office in Sugar Land, Texas, or book online today.

What are veneers?

Veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells that can enhance the appearance of your teeth. These custom-made covers adhere to the surface of the teeth in the front of your mouth to improve their shape, size, or color.

Veneers encourage you to smile with confidence if you’re unhappy with the way your teeth look. They’re durable, long-lasting, and stain-resistant.

Which cosmetic concerns can veneers address?

Porcelain veneers can address a wide range of cosmetic concerns, including:

  • Tooth discoloration
  • Crooked teeth
  • Chipped teeth
  • Fractured teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Teeth worn down by grinding (bruxism)
  • Overly short or long teeth
  • Gapped teeth

Even if you’re satisfied with the overall appearance of your smile, veneers can help your teeth appear brighter, straighter, and more uniform. Veneers don’t correct the underlying cause of dental concerns, such as misaligned teeth, but they can cover imperfections in your smile.

What can I expect from the veneers process?

Veneers usually take only two visits to the office to enhance your smile.

First Visit

During your first visit, your provider prepares your teeth. They perform a teeth cleaning before removing a small portion of the enamel. This makes room for your veneers to match the rest of your teeth without appearing bulky.

Next, your provider takes digital impressions of your teeth to create your veneers without messy molds. Veneers take about 2-3 weeks to develop in a lab, so your provider protects your teeth with temporary restorations while you wait.

Second visit

When you return to the office for the second time, your provider removes the temporary veneers and cleans your teeth. Etching the teeth to be covered creates rough surfaces that allow the veneers to bond. After roughing up the teeth, your provider applies an adhesive and attaches the veneers.

They make any necessary adjustments for the best fit and appearance before cementing the veneers in place.

How do I take care of my veneers?

Porcelain veneers can last for more than 12 years* with proper care. To care for veneers, your provider may recommend that you:

  • Brush and floss after meals
  • Avoid sticky foods or hard candies
  • Follow a healthy diet
  • Schedule teeth cleanings every six months
